    We are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new Abdul’s takeaway and diner on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield.

    To celebrate the arrival of a new Abdul’s in South Yorkshire we held a fantastic launch event, creating a fusion of colour and taste on the streets of Sheffield, with a Bollywood themed community dance master class and performance.

    Featuring local dance group AIMTODANCE, the classic Bollywood style routine created a celebratory mood, while samples of our delicious, authentic Indian dishes were handed out to hungry passers-by.

    The event marked the opening of the third Abdul’s site in Yorkshire, which will be managed by our new Franchisee Laurence Nair. We would like to thank Councillor Shaffaq Mohammed, who was on hand to officially open the site and expressed his delight in seeing the transformation from a fish and chip shop to a quality takeaway and diner.

    As well as sampling tasty dishes from the menu, Councillor Mohammed joined in the fun and provided a countdown to the release of around 400 balloons each holding a special tag that when redeemed will entitle the finder to a meal at Abdul’s Sheffield, absolutely free!

    The aim of the event was to hold a celebration that would bring something completely different to the streets of Sheffield and create a real party atmosphere. It was great day, with plenty of food, fun balloons and dancing. Hopefully the people of Sheffield enjoyed it as much as we did and will continue to enjoy our selection of great tasting dishes, just as our brilliant and loyal customers in Wakefield and Pontefract do.

    Here at Abdul’s we are giving families a quick and easy way to spice up the leftovers this Christmas, with the return of our perfect curry sauce that will guarantee to add a tasty twist to any festive turkey trimmings.

    Abdul developed the simple sauce himself, using just the right combination of authentic Indian ingredients and spices, that will turn that left over Boxing Day turkey into a delicious dish for the whole family to enjoy.

    Curry is a traditional way for many families to use up leftovers on Boxing Day, while also providing the perfect excuse to eat more delicious food. The specially developed recipe, which has just the right amount of spice to ensure it will appeal to young and old, couldn’t be simpler to enjoy.

    All customers have to do is add the sauce to leftover trimmings (turkey, chicken, veg – it tastes great with almost all Christmas leftovers), simmer and serve with your choice of side dish; perfectly quick and simple.

    The sauce, which is making a comeback after being a huge hit with customers last year, is made using a selection of fresh ingredients and comes in a handy carton with just enough to serve two people.

    It is available to purchase on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day in both the Pontefract and Wakefield sites.
