  1. STEELERS BECOME NAME SAKE FOR SUPER SPICY CURRY AT ABDUL’S

The Sheffield Steelers ice hockey team certainly felt the heat last week, when they visited our Sheffield based diner, to help launch the Steelers Super Spicy curry – a dish named in their honour.

The players, who visited the diner last Thursday, forgot all about the ice rink for the evening when they we asked them to ‘thaw out’ and sample the Steelers Super Spicy Curry, as well as a selection of their favourite dishes and side orders.

The team were great fun and a really friendly bunch of guys – we’re happy they chose to come along and sample our menu – they are certainly now our number one fans and after their recent win we will be watching them more closely now too!

Team Captain, Steven Goertzen gave us great feedback, commenting that the food at was amazing and the staff and management made it an extremely satisfying and accommodating experience.

It just goes to show though that not everyone can handle the heat when they come into our kitchen, some of the players found the curry a little too spicy saying, although it was delicious, the Steelers Super Spicy Curry definitely has a kick to it!  As you can see from Tim Spencer’s face in our picture (far right)!

A great night was had by all and on behalf of all the team at Abdul’s, we would like to thank the Sheffield Steelers for taking the time to come and pay us a visit and of course sample our new Steelers Super Spicy Curry. We hope to see them all again very soon.

Why not see if you can handle the heat and try out our new Steelers Super Spicy Curry the next time you visit Abdul’s Sheffield. But be warned if you can’t take the heat – you shouldn’t be in Abdul’s kitchen.

    The Abdul’s Team.

  2. ABDUL’S ADD A FUSION OF COLOUR AND TASTE TO THE STREETS OF SHEFFIELD

We are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new Abdul’s takeaway and diner on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield.

To celebrate the arrival of a new Abdul’s in South Yorkshire we held a fantastic launch event, creating a fusion of colour and taste on the streets of Sheffield, with a Bollywood themed community dance master class and performance.

Featuring local dance group AIMTODANCE, the classic Bollywood style routine created a celebratory mood, while samples of our delicious, authentic Indian dishes were handed out to hungry passers-by.

The event marked the opening of the third Abdul’s site in Yorkshire, which will be managed by our new Franchisee Laurence Nair. We would like to thank Councillor Shaffaq Mohammed, who was on hand to officially open the site and expressed his delight in seeing the transformation from a fish and chip shop to a quality takeaway and diner.

As well as sampling tasty dishes from the menu, Councillor Mohammed joined in the fun and provided a countdown to the release of around 400 balloons each holding a special tag that when redeemed will entitle the finder to a meal at Abdul’s Sheffield, absolutely free!

The aim of the event was to hold a celebration that would bring something completely different to the streets of Sheffield and create a real party atmosphere. It was great day, with plenty of food, fun balloons and dancing. Hopefully the people of Sheffield enjoyed it as much as we did and will continue to enjoy our selection of great tasting dishes, just as our brilliant and loyal customers in Wakefield and Pontefract do.

  3. It’s hotting up here at Abdul’s

Did you know that this week is National Curry Week? What better excuse do you need to have a warming dish that is filled with delicious herbs and spices than an official week long celebration dedicated to the dish!

Many of our customers comment on the fact that we cook all of our meals in front of the diners, theatre style. This isn’t so that we can show off – although that could be said for some of our chefs – it’s actually because we want our diners to feel like they are part of the experience from start to finish.

We also take time and effort in the presentation of the food that we serve. We know that you don’t want to look forward to a curry that smells truly tasty and then open up the carton to find something that looks like dog food inside.

We make sure that our dishes are served in reusable cartons with a slice of lemon, garnish of parsley or topping of coriander. It’s the little things that go along way and we want to be proud of the dishes we serve for your dinner.

Carrying on the celebration, we are encouraging our diners to try something different; if you take the time to come to Abdul’s during National Curry Week and you change your usual curry choice to any other from the menu we will give you a second main dish absolutely free.

Go on, hang up those pots and pans and have the night off. Abdul’s is waiting to put a spicy selection of tasty treats on your table this tea time (try saying that quickly!).
