  1. ABDULS NOMINATED FOR TWO OLIVER AWARDS

We are pleased to announce to all of our customers that thanks to your loyal support Abdul’s has been nominated for two Oliver Award’s; Best Chef and Best Indian categories.

The awards acknowledge and pay recognition to some of the best eateries throughout the West Yorkshire region. As well as the diner being nominated for Best Indian, I myself have been nominated within the Best Chef category; an award that looks at the skill, imagination and creativity used by those serving a range of foods to consumers throughout the area.

Using fresh ingredients and ensure each dish is of the finest quality, I first found that I had a passion for food when cooking authentic Indian foods with my late mother. From this moment on I built on the skills that I had been taught when cooking at home and took a course to train as a chef before launching the first Abdul’s takeaway and diner in Wakefield more than 15 years ago.

Slightly overwhelmed with these great nominations the team and I are really pleased that we have been nominated; it’s great to be recognised for the hard work and effort that we put in to serving delicious dishes for our diners. We are all really excited and we can’t wait to see if we make it to the finals.

  2. It’s hotting up here at Abdul’s

Did you know that this week is National Curry Week? What better excuse do you need to have a warming dish that is filled with delicious herbs and spices than an official week long celebration dedicated to the dish!

Many of our customers comment on the fact that we cook all of our meals in front of the diners, theatre style. This isn’t so that we can show off – although that could be said for some of our chefs – it’s actually because we want our diners to feel like they are part of the experience from start to finish.

We also take time and effort in the presentation of the food that we serve. We know that you don’t want to look forward to a curry that smells truly tasty and then open up the carton to find something that looks like dog food inside.

We make sure that our dishes are served in reusable cartons with a slice of lemon, garnish of parsley or topping of coriander. It’s the little things that go along way and we want to be proud of the dishes we serve for your dinner.

Carrying on the celebration, we are encouraging our diners to try something different; if you take the time to come to Abdul’s during National Curry Week and you change your usual curry choice to any other from the menu we will give you a second main dish absolutely free.

Go on, hang up those pots and pans and have the night off. Abdul’s is waiting to put a spicy selection of tasty treats on your table this tea time (try saying that quickly!).
